Movie Review : Black Swan

Black Swan. Since the first time I saw the trailer, I knew this movie is gonna be big and great. Finally I got the chance to watch it. Since the very first time the movie started I really want to know what happen to Natalie Portman's character. Very exciting to be watch. With cast that seems so promising, like Natalie Portman, Vincent Cassel and Mila Kunis, with director that everybody know his work, Darren Aronofsky, this movie should be fascinating. And it does. 

Black Swan is about Nina Sayers (Portman) dancer in a New York City ballet company run by Thomas Leroy (Cassel). She lives with her who's a former dancer, but she's a bit emotionally unstable. That's what make Nina really uptight, very technical about her dance and really following the instruction. It's a good thing but also her weakness when it comes to play role as black swan on the opening production of their new season, Swan Lake. She's been choice as the prima ballerina of the show. She has to play the two role, white swan and black swan. From there's things get twisted. Nina begins to get more in touch with her dark side - a recklessness that threatens to destroy her.

After watching it for almost 108 minutes, this movie really blow my mind. It's amazing. You can see that little by little this black swan role start growing inside of Nina, eating her alive, playing with her mind. She's become paranoid and sees things. This role is so important that she's begin to forget about herself, trying to get out for her boring routinity. All of that so she can embrace both role white and black swan, the good and the bad swan. Natalie Portman so perfect for this role. She really learn ballet and become a convincing ballerina. The way she act, her facing expression is so great. It's like informing us about her true feeling. She should win an Oscar or anyother awards that she's being nominated. Her totality to play this role, to do things-what's for me is so brave it's just amaizing. Not only her but also her supporting actress Mila Kunis. This girl when for sitkom girl to serious actress. She really can capture this fun girl who silently become competitor for the black swan role. Without her, Natalie Portman's character won't realize that she has to work harder to keep her role. Vincent Cassel, oh this actor stealling my heart from the first time I saw him on Ocean's Twelve. He played really well as the director of the show and really knows what he want from her ballerina.

Like my friend have suggested, I will rate this movie with 5 out of 5. This is a must watch movie. The best movie in 2010.

Movie Review : Devil (2010)

Mr. Syamalan is back people! Maybe not yet as director but at least he's back as writer. He write something good this time, something that far much better than his work for the past few years. Thriller genre is his best and this time he write a movie titled 'DEVIL'

Devil is about 5 strangers stranded in one elevator but not just that, one of them is devil. Devil that ready to take their soul without knowing the reason why. Yes for almost one and a half hour the main set is on the elevator but that's the fun. Small place always know how to bring out the worst in people. Not only give stress to the people inside it but also to the audience. Slowly but sure they build suspense in such a tiny area. Devil gets what devil wants. 

The credit of course not all for M. Night Syamalan but also the the director John Erick Dowdle because he know how to manage this small scope into something big, something thrilling, something scary yet not boring. 

Movie Review : Tron Legacy (2010)

Thank god I got the chance to watch this movie on 3D of it is great to watch it like that. I love the effect on this movie ssoooo much. In fact I think they should win for best costume (well if they win I think step up 3d could win too cos they have the same costume) and also win for the best soundtrack (and best cameo), all hail daft punk! eventhough the scene was fighting they turn in into dance battle cos of the song they played. Oh and also this is the second movie that I realize there’s no kissing scene anywhere, just woooowww.

Yeah I think that’s all I can say about the good things from this movie, aside of the acting especially jeff bridges for playing 2 version of him and michael sheen for playing the joker version of tron. Other then that… oh the story, a little bit boring, if it wasnt because of the effect I dont think people gonna stay. There’s no up and down for the storyline and also the ending it was no fun. And also how can a program can turn themselve into a human, eventhough its a pretty human like olivia wilde but still it’s kinda non sense.

Movie Review : Paranormal Activity 2 (2010)

As we know, the first movie got very nice appriciation. Some people believe that really happen and they searcing on the internet for what's really going on with katie and micah. It's just like when Blair Witch Project came out for the first time. That hand held camera thing, is really convincing people huh. But what I really admire for the first paranormal activity is that they only made it only with $11,000 even the actors only got paid $500 if im not wrong but it look really real to everybody even me, if im not reading the synopsis before I might get fool too. Like all the others hollywood movie that made big bucks they decided to make a sequel. So with the fact that I really love the first movie so I decided to watch the sequel ofcourse, I had to compare it.

 So finally I got the chance to watch it. After almost one and a half hour watching it I get to conclusion that the first movie definitly alot better that this. But don't worry it's still can make ur heart beat racing like crazy! What I dont like is the story, it seems to me that they trying so hard to make the story can fit right into the first movie. Your family line is curse? COME ON! I bet they can do alot better than this. And see from the ending I think they going to make the third installment too.

Movie Review : The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader (2010)

Thank goodness this movie came to here really fast, it's not that I like the movie that much but just wanna be the one of the first that watch this movie. So basicly is about the continue of the advanture of The Pevensie family on narnia. Now that only lucy and edmund that can came back, oh and they accidently bring their annoying yet helpfull (in the end) cousin.
Maybe it is the books better that the movies. In this movie I kinda bored watching the advanture (if u can call it that) just up until they fight with that Mist thingy. I mean, it just on and on about they have to find all the things that they need to stop the mist, but it just seems so easy. And the 3D is not helpfull at all. Believe me, maybe you wouldn't find any differences if u watch it in 2D.
It's a good thing they bring along their cousin cos that's the only thing that can make me laught in this 2 hours long movie.
